Pune Residents Raise Electrocution Concerns Over Open Power Boxes

A 63-year-old woman's alleged electrocution death in Hadapsar has sparked concerns over open power distribution boxes in Pune. Local resident Dipak Waghmare expressed his concerns, stating that the condition of the power distribution box near Nilayam Talkies is frightening, and thousands of pedestrians use the stretch every day. He warned that if someone slips or a schoolchild touches the exposed structure, it could lead to another tragedy.

Daily commuter Vinay Khairnar also shared his fears, saying that many electrical boxes are left open on footpaths without barricading or warning signs, and people avoid walking near them during rains due to the risk of electric shocks.

Shiv Sena Pune city chief Pramod Nana Bhangire visited the bereaved family and demanded that a culpable homicide case be registered against the officials responsible for the alleged negligence.
